In the whole big Waterstones in Glades, there were only 17 out of 513 books in the sport section, either written by or about females in sport; 3 about feminism in sport.
3.31% of all books in the sports section involved females either as writers, in the title, or as main characters.
It was an experiment to see what level of female representation would be in the sport section of a book store, and it reflects the overall representation of women in sport media. I am unlikely to use it in the project, but it was eye-opening as I did not expect such a low number.
