This handbook is addressed primarily to policymakers and sports practitioners, as well as sports journalists and civil society organisations who want to do more to ensure that women and girls across all social groups can practice sports safely.

" Many of the root causes of violence against women and girls in sport directly reflect the causes of gender-based violence in our societies at large: gender inequality, discrimination and harmful socio-cultural norms."

The handbook provides useful context of how the system operates from the inside, the power dynamics, statystics of abuse, and how the system allows for it to happen. For me, it is useful as background research to know what to look out for while reading articles, look further into the story of the athlete I am reading about, and notice the subdle signs within the writing.

I will use this information in the zine as the sideline explanations of background and history, noticing and highlighting how and why certain language can be and is harmful.
