Everyday for a week, she cut men’s sports articles out of the front page of the New York Times sports section. What remained were empty or nearly empty spreads, with only a few paragraphs highlighting women.
This is a related work on lack fo representation of women is sport media, which shows the issue clearly. It's awakening to see a format think this showing the scale of the empty space on a newspaper that doesn't specify that it is focused on male athlets, yet the gender representation gap is still there.
It had led me to do some statistical research (that can be found closer to the end of the research and application page) and calculate the percentage of women's representation in diffrerent mediumd.
